Introduction

About BAJSS

The first President of the Sangh was Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, who continued as President from the year 1948 to 1962. Later on the President ship of the Sangh was bestowed on Shri U.N. Dheber, former Chief Minister of Gujarat and President, All India Congress Committee, he was also Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission. Shri Morarji Desai, former Prime Minister of India, Dr. (Mrs.) Phulrenu Guha, former Union State Minister of Social Welfare were also Presidents of the sangh. Shri J.H. Chinchalkar, who was associated with the Sangh since 1950, was President of the Sangh from 1987 to 2000. After his death on 30th January 2000. Shri Banwari Lal Gaur reputed social and Khadi worker and Secretary, Rajasthan Adimjati Sevak Sangh, Jaipur was elected as President and successively getting elected unanimously as the President and continued till his death on 17th October 2019. Thakkar Bapa National Tribal Museum

The National Tribal Museum is located inside the Thakkar Bapa Smarak Sadan in the Jhandewalan area of New Delhi. It is an institution run by the Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh (BAJSS), an organization founded in 1948 by social worker Thakkar Bapa for the upliftment of tribal communities.
